The Edwards Chapel Blog
Hello friends, fans, and family,
I hope and pray that all is well. Please keep each other in prayer and pray for me. I know how hard it is to try and find a job and pay the bills. We all have pit falls even me. I know that it is hard to get back up after a pit fall. Sometimes it may seem like no matter what you do trouble seem to win and grow. It also seem like there is no one to turn to. This bleak and dismal situation is only temporary. Keep working hard trusting in God, knowing that God hears your prayers and will answer you. Stay in God's will and do as God say do. Read your bible daily and pray constantly. Trust in your heart that God love you and will lead you according to his will. You are awesome and God will lead you through your storms and troubles.
Joshua 1:9; Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Today’s Reading: Psalms 43; Acts 27:27-44
Today’s Thoughts: What If?
And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. 1 Corinthians 7:13-14
How many times do we, as adults, reflect upon our childhoods and wonder "what if?" What if my Christian mom would have left my non-Christian dad? Thoughts of my childhood bring a mixture of emotions. Growing up in a home with a father who did not know or believe in Jesus Christ was hard, even in the best of times.
I felt the tensions, had fears, and though I did not understand everything, I knew we were in a battle. My mom fought one of those battles every Sunday, but somehow she persevered to get herself and two kids to church. Those mornings irritated and angered my dad. I now realize just how serious those battles were, for the warfare is not against flesh and blood but against spirits and principalities (Ephesians 6:12).
But through His power and love, God gave my mother the strength to stay with my father. And because of the foundation my mother laid in the Lord, I learned to turn to God for help at a young age. God heard my prayers and I learned to trust in His protection, even in the midst of oppression. Just recently, my mom and I talked about her relationship with my dad. I am so thankful she stayed with him. Paul says that the "unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife" and that the "children would be unclean, but now they are holy." God honors our desire to keep the commitment we make with our spouses and God knows that the children need both parents together.
Even if only one parent knows the Lord, God blesses the home. Besides, we never know when the Holy Spirit will change the heart of the unsaved parent. As a child, I prayed every night for my dad "to be saved," and though he never went to church, my mom remembers the night he prayed the sinner's prayer after watching Billy Graham.
He died soon after. We may not understand why God allows certain situations to be so painful and hard for so long, but He honors our desire to please Him over ourselves. What if my mother had chosen to leave my father? Yes, my life would have been different but I am so thankful that my mother stayed.
God gave us His strength when we were weak. God gave us hope when we despaired. Because of those years, I learned to cry out to God and depend on Him at a young age. I learned invaluable lessons that have shaped my faith today. Despite your circumstances, no matter how dreadful they seem, God is with you. Turn to Him for the strength to make it.Our mission is to evangelize the lost and awaken the saved to live empowered lives by the Work of God and His Holy Spirit. DAILY truth from D. James Kennedy
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”— Philippians 4:13
Do you dream big dreams for your life? If you were given absolute assurance of success, would you act on those dreams? Well, God has promised us such victory. Read Paul’s claim from Philippians again: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” What an incredible promise! But all too often we talk ourselves out of our dreams with two simple words: “I can’t.”
These words of unbelief crush our dreams. Instead of trusting God’s promise to strengthen us for all things, we rely on our own volition, our education, our physical prowess, or perhaps even our social standing. And when we perceive a lack of resources to accomplish our dreams, we fail to even try.
Jesus said, “Without me ye can do nothing.” If we ever want to fulfill our dreams, we must keep our eyes on Jesus Christ. And as we do, the possibilities are limitless. But first, we must align our aspirations with God’s Word and with His will for us. Second, we must steadfastly work toward our goal, never losing sight of it. Paul serves as a great example of this two-step strategy.
He had a dream that every nation, tongue, and tribe would know the gospel. Paul’s goal was completely in line with God’s truth. And despite his suffering as he strove toward his goal, Paul never lost sight of it. Because of his perseverance and his reliance on God’s strength, Paul’s dream lives on as the Good News continues to spread to the ends of the earth.
God intended His children to soar like eagles. He wants us to live in His world of infinite possibilities, relying on His strength to make our dreams realities. Do you have a dream, something you think you could never achieve? Then ask God for strength to achieve it. As you set your faith in God and seek His will, He will make your dreams come true! For they conquer who believe they can.— VIRGIL
Hello friends, and family,
I know how hard it is to keep going after a failure. Failing in something that you put everything in will take the wind out of your sails, it will sap the energy out of you and it will kill any motivation that you have. Failing in something that people said that you would fail in kills you inside. The tears would stop, the heartache won't quit and the, "I told you so," flows like a river to your ears and eye sight. In this moment you are at your lowest. What do you do, what should you do? Take it to God in prayer, you may even need to fast and pray about it. You may need to fast, pray, and read the bible asking for guidance, through your tears and pain. At this point you are reviewing your whole plan from the failure to the beginning and from the beginning to the failure. Trying to see where you went wrong and if there were warning signs and why you did not notice the warning signs. Be encouraged, we all go through failures and some are worst than others but that does not mean that you cannot recover from it. Trust God and keep going. Keep moving forward in the will of God.
Today we celebrated our 106th Church Anniversary. It was a joyous occasions and many awesome people and churches came out to celebrate with us. It was a long and hard road. I know this even though I personally was not around for the 106 years. I could list the reasons why and scale it to today and even by today's standards it is still a long and hard road. I thank God for allowing us to be here for this celebration. It is an achievement.
I am going to close with, allow God to be into your every day life. Yes, you are going to mess up but don't allow that mess up define you. You can keep going, keep praying and keep serving God. Because of God a poor man can say that he is rich and a poor woman can say that they are rich. We all are broken and we all lose our way from time to time. But with God we are found and with God we are whole. So, don't forget God. Spend time with God and build your relationship with Him. How you may ask, well, that is easy. Pray, talk to God, read your bible, learn God's word, and repeat. Consistency is what you are going after. Making God a consistent part of your life. Bible segment for this entry is: Pslam 121. May God bless and keep you always.
Hello friends, fans, and family,
i hope and pray that you are having an awesome day. God loves you, never forget that. You are loved by the creator of the universe. God is God of all and He chooses you and He wants you to be apart of His family. You are so important to Him, that He knows everything that you have been through and He knows the hairs on your head. He know everything. God is a good God. God wants you to try him. Yes, give God a chance, please, do. Give God a chance and allow Him to show up and show out in your every day life.
To everyone who is celebrating a birthday this month of July 2018, Happy Birthday! you are awesome. Never forget how awesome you are. You are awesome just for being you. Yes, they are going to be hard times and God will be there. Yes, there will be good time and God will be there. Yes, there will be pit falls and God will be there. Always, God will be there. Even when we don't think that He is there God is still there. Our God answers prayers. Your prayers will be heard and God will answer your prayer. He may not answer when we want Him to, or in our time frame but He will answer.
Be happy and of good cheer because we serve a good, caring, and loving God. If God corrects you be happy even though it maybe painful. Why, you may ask, well, it is simple. Because God correct the ones He loves. We as a people do the same thing. If we see someone that we care about doing something wrong that will hurt themselves and/or someone else we will correct them. And we will correct them because we care about them, moreover, because we love them and we don't want them to get hurt. We would rather punish them ourselves than to see them dead or in jail for there actions. If we can stop them from doing that thing that would land them in jail and/or in the grave. So, be happy and of good courage. Continue to try to learn God's word and incorporate the word into our every day life. Your effort in learning God's word will pay off.
I am going to close with, the dividends of your faith and effort will pay off. Your ROI will come and last for a life time. So, be of good cheer and of good courage. God is able and even in His correction He is still awesome. Every journey began with one step and in that step God takes two steps. An easy return on your investment of faith, love, and effort. May God bless and keep you always. Love you in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Hello friends, fans and family,
I hope that you are having an awesome day. Today I am going to talk about believing in God. We may say that we believe but when times get hard is your belief still intact? If it is good on you and keep it up. If it is not, don't worry you can improve in this area. How do we strengthen our faith when we are going through a storm?! Sometimes, it seems like the storm is going to last forever. Sometimes, it feels like your strength is not going to last the night much less the duration of the storm. Sometimes, it feels like you can't do nothing right and the only thing that you are good at is failing. But I am here to tell you that your strength, your relief, your strong hold is in Him. Your deliverance is in the one true God. Lean, and I dare say glean on the Lord.
Yes, tough times will come but also tough times will go and you may not even be affected the same way someone else is. Times may seem easy to you and tough for someone else. I remember I was saying how much I enjoyed the weather and going to the pool and the beach and later someone else was telling me how much they hated the weather, because it was too hot for them. So, remember to always be thankful and believe in God. This is in the good times and in the bad times.
I am going to close with, trust in the Lord and praise His holy name. never forget that you are never alone even though at that time you maybe by yourself. You are never alone. God loves you more than you love yourself. He wants you to be happy and He wants you to follow His commands. You can be blessed and I dare say that you will be blessed, just believe, and work to that end. God is calling you, why don't you answer?! There will never be "a good time." That first step is so hard to do, however, only after that first step will the next step be easier. May God Bless and Keep you always.
